News & Updates

March 27th, 2020 by

As you will no doubt be aware, the global landscape is changing rapidly and, as a responsible employer, CCM Motorcycles have recognised that the next 2 weeks are critical in the fight to stop the spread of the Coronavirus. As such, we have taken the decision to temporarily close all operations at our factory until further notice and thus remove our employees from any danger.

This week, our dedicated team have delivered 21 new bikes to our customers and have manufactured another 40 units that are currently ready for MSVA certification. As soon as the DVSA inspectors are able to resume testing at the factory, these bikes will undergo their final PDI’s and our plans are already in place to deliver them to their new owners and manufacture of the next series can then resume. Our production team can now stand down in the safety of their own homes until such time as it is safe to resume.

The management and supporting staff that can effectively work from the safety of their home will continue to do so and CCM will continue to support our employees as required.

Many of the components such as engines, tanks & brakes used in the production of the Spitfire Series are manufactured in Italy, the worst affected country in Europe, forcing their government to shut down all non-essential businesses and industries. Whilst we have stocks to cover the initial return to work, our procurement staff will focus on ensuring this supply continues as soon as the closure period is over.

Our valued team

Our drivers have worked tirelessly this week, delivering as many bikes as possible and we thank them for their service this week. We must now stand them down so that they can get through this most risky period ahead in the safety of their own homes. Deliveries will resume when it is safe to do so.
The management team are now all working full-time from home to focus on the key functions of the business, ensuring that we can hit the ground running once it is safe to do so.

The service team

Our 3 mobile technicians have been visiting customers’ homes this week and carrying out services however they have now arrived at the point where they are feeling vulnerable. I’m sure you will agree, they are valued assets to you, our customers and to the business, and we feel that it is now more important to let these guys return to the safety of their own homes until it is safe to venture out again.

We urge you to continue to support them and to make your service bookings with Steve at who will continue to schedule your maintenance bookings from home, and he will be available to answer any queries you have. Steve can also be contacted on 07384 545445 throughout this period.

Parts & Accessories

Our Aftersales department will also be capturing all spare parts and accessory customer requirements, so please continue to browse our online accessories catalogue and email your wishlists across to: We’ll look to process these enquiries as soon as possible within the coming weeks.

NEW – Club CCM web portal

Our Club CCM Portal on the website is almost ready and next week, you will receive an email inviting you to join and create your new password. Our CCM Community will allow you to share your stories and photos with likeminded owners. We’d love to hear about the sort of things you’d like to see in Club CCM so please feel free to share your views.

There is a forum for all variants of the marque, an events calendar for when the good times return, an FAQ section and you can even book your service too.

Social Media

We will continue to share news, views and most importantly, pictures of gorgeous motorcycles on our social media channels namely Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, so while you have a little extra time on your hands, join us online for a chat!

Your support is truly valued

We understand that this is a very difficult time for everyone emotionally and financially however we would urge you to continue with the current payment plan where possible to ensure there are no further delays to production once we are back up and running. Our sales team will be on hand to deal with any customer queries and we will be personally calling all our customers who are awaiting their orders to finalise their specification and to take payment If required. Your co-operation and support is greatly appreciated.

We would like to thank you for your continued support now more than ever, and we will get through this together and we look to updating you as events unfold. In the meantime, we hope that you and your families remain safe and together we will minimise any effects of the COVID-19 virus.

We really have a great team here at CCM and I  can tell you that my father and the founder of CCM would have been very proud of them in the way they have all committed to this terrible situation with COVID 19 – lets not let this beat us and together we will come out of the other end of this much stronger as a CCM team and community,

Stay safe meanwhile and many thanks to you all for your support.

Dougie Lampkin becomes latest CCM Ambassador

February 15th, 2019 by

Earlier today, two great pillars of British motorcycling confirmed that they have joined forces, with the Bolton based bike manufacturer CCM Motorcycles using their presence at the London Motorcycle Show to announce twelve times FIM Trial World Champion Dougie Lampkin as their latest brand ambassador.

Lampkin will join four times World Superbike Champion Carl Fogarty in flying the flag for the Lancashire founded firm, which is fast approaching its fiftieth anniversary. Currently enjoying record orders for its iconic Spitfire model range, Lampkin was always keen to throw his leg over one of the handmade British machines since they were first launched, and instantly fell in love with both the original version and the Scrambler models when he got to ride them during a Belstaff photoshoot last year.

Already a keen collector of vintage and retro British bikes, Dougie has joined the queue with other CCM customers and is patiently waiting to take delivery of his personal Spitfire, but was delighted to collect the keys from CCM Managing Director Austin Clews for a pre-production Spitfire Six model at the London Motorcycle show earlier today. Dougie will assist with the final development of this model, with the production model that will be delivered to customers in due course reflecting his personal input.

Having already created his own signature version of the Spitfire, Fogarty was also on hand to officially welcome Lampkin to the CCM family. Both Dougie and Carl will be joining CCM Motorcycles at a number of events throughout 2019, as the Spitfire limited edition models continue their tour of the UK over the coming months.

Speaking about Dougie’s appointment, CCM Motorcycles Managing Director Austin Clews said: “I think it is fair to say that the Lampkin family name remains one of the most famous in motorcycling history even today, much due to their sporting success over the last fifty or so years. Dougie’s older cousin John actually rode for us in the Trial World Championship back in the eighties, so it is a proud moment for us to have the opportunity to welcome another member of this British motorcycling dynasty to help us reinforce the importance of us still making bikes in the UK today.”

Austin ended by saying: “Dougie’s own sporting successes speak for themselves, but equally he is a great guy who has a shared passion for what we are doing and has values and experience that are sure to benefit us as a brand as we continue to work on some new and exciting projects. However, for the record, we will not be making another Trial bike – anytime soon.”

Equally delighted to confirm his collaboration Dougie Lampkin stated: “Whilst I’m more widely recognised as a Trial rider, I am actually a fan of motorcycling in general. As soon I saw the first photos of the Spitfire it was love at first sight, so I was really happy when CCM agreed to loan us a couple of Spitfires for the photoshoot we did in the Scottish Highlands last year. Riding the bikes confirmed that I needed to own one and after a bit of Yorkshire bartering, not only am I about to become a CCM customer, but I have also become a CCM brand ambassador too.”

Dougie signed off by explaining: “I really love what CCM are doing with the Spitfire, and so do the British customers who have made the first few versions a complete sell out. I have been lucky enough to see what else they have in the pipeline in terms of new models, and there is plenty more to come out of the famous Bolton factory. With my own passion for old British bikes and the whole retro scene, I am confident I can add value to some of the new projects they have planned. But right now, my priority is to get as many miles in as possible on the pre-production Spitfire Six so I can give my feedback to the factory.”

Seven-Time World Champion Carl Fogarty Joins CCM

November 7th, 2018 by

CCM Motorcycles today announced that seven-time world champion Carl Fogarty has joined the company as a brand ambassador and consultant.

To mark the collaboration CCM and Carl have developed a limited edition of just 300 Foggy Edition versions of their highly-acclaimed Spitfire series, plus one identical bike commissioned for Foggy.

The Foggy Edition Spitfire model will be first seen in the flesh on Saturday, November 17th on CCM’s stand at Motorcycle Live at the NEC, Birmingham.

“I have been a massive admirer of CCM’s progress over the last few years and love the retro-look bikes they have been producing,” said Carl, who has been appointed Director of Performance.

“I go way back with CCM and have always been close friends with the Clews family, who started the company. So when the chance came up to work with them again I saw a great opportunity to support a British manufacturer that is close to my heart.

“I’m really happy with the Foggy Edition Spitfire. The idea was to add a bit of my own personality and racing heritage to a cool range that has already proved such a big success with the public.

“It’s a bike that you can take to a track day with your mates and then ride straight to the café for a coffee!”

CCM managing director, Austin Clews, added:

“Carl has been a great personal close friend of mine for many years now and we both feel that now is the right time for Carl to get involved, at a time when CCM is venturing more and more into the road bike side of UK and international markets.

This offers the chance not only for Carl to introduce CCM to a wider worldwide audience but also for Carl to be directly involved and influence the way CCMs are designed in the future. This is a very exciting time for us both and we intend to maximise Carl’s impact to help the future growth of CCM.”

Carl will be appearing at the CCM stand at Motorcycle Live on November 17, 23 and 25.

A tribute to Alan Clews: 1938-2018

May 3rd, 2018 by

World renowned motorcycle designer Alan Clews sadly passed away on May 2nd 2018. Just shy of his 80th birthday, Alan continued to play an active role within CCM, as he had done over the past 47 years.

In the 70’s Alan blazed a trail across the motocross Grand Prix’s of the world, with the Bolton based firm punching well above its weight, dishing out bloody noses to many of the European and Japanese factory works teams. It was this ability that endeared him and his riders to motorcycle enthusiasts across the globe and Alan’s legendary 4-stroke dirt bikes would become known as “The Rolling Thunder”.

His final project would see him working his magic on CCM’s latest model, The Spitfire. Alan was in the midst of a “stroked” version of the Spitfire’s 600cc engine when he was taken ill and tragically he will no longer see this labour of love brought to its conclusion, however everyone here at CCM are committed to completing this, his final legacy, in his honour.

A more detailed tribute to Alan will be aired in the forthcoming weeks.

Details of the funeral will also follow and all those interested in attending will be welcome by the family.
